I want to send out huge thank you to our Club members this weekend. We all worked together and had an amazing event with numerous guests!! To Michelle Rill, thank you so much for your great work. Organizing the trial and keeping everything together was awesome, we couldn't have done it without you! To Clint, thank you so much for barbecuing all weekend and making sure the food was a success. To Marek and Andy, thank you for cooking the pig!!! It was delicious. Thank you to Julia.. even though you were in Germany, you still kept involved and continued to keep everything organized.. To George and Rob, thank you for organizations for the fields and laying the tracks!! All competitors were happy. To Jim!!!! To the two Helpers, James and John, that came out to do the helper work. You were both outstanding on the field. To Bogden, thank you for coming and judging, everyone enjoyed all your comments! And last but not least thank you so much to Sandra and Pando Stepanis. We as a Club could not do anything without you two.. Your continued support and amazing hospitality is everything!!! Our Ontario Region needs to come together and I think our trial was a start!!! The 2018 Ontario Regional Championship Trial will be hosted by Niagara Hundesport May 19-21. It is important to support this event by attending and a super opportunity to watch and learn. Information on the location can be obtained from their Website.

The 2018 Ontario Regional Conformation Show and Breed Survey will be July 7-8 at the same location.

Our Club also has a Website at Saugeen Schutzhund Club. Even if you are not a big user of social media the Saugeen Facebook page is only upcoming events and great articles to read.

Starting Sunday, May 13, tracking at the Community Centre. Meet at 8am on Sundays. Club Obedience and Protection start after that time. The point of group training is to have others watch and provide advice. You have the rest of the week to work alone.

Date TBA we are trying to arrange for a club level helper certification. This would be a Saturday event with lectures in the morning and the helpers working dogs in the afternoon. I have attended so I understand what the helper is going to be doing as they help me and my dog advance in protection.

Sunday June 3, is club clean up day. There will be a long list of jobs provided so wear appropriate clothing to get dirty. If you are unable to attend that day let Pando know and he can assign duties as they are needed at other times. After clean up we will have a late lunch so plan to make a day of it.

Wednesday, June 6, we will start training on Wednesday nights again.

Saturday, July 7 The Annual General Meeting has been scheduled for 4:00 pm at Niagara Hundesport. You should have received an email from the Ontario Region. This is the time you can voice your questions and concerns. This is on the weekend of the Sieger Show and Breed Survey taking place at Niagara Hundesport. Come support the 2nd part of the Ontario Regional for the conformation competion.

July 14-15 there will be a scent detection trial at Olympus. What does that mean? There will be a good number of visitors with campers, cars and dogs. Please respect these invited guests. Saugeen has been invited to host a barbecue on the Saturday night as a club fund raiser. If you can help us out it would be appreciated. It should be a fun time. The scent detection trial will be using the club house and outside areas on the Saturday. On the Sunday they will be up at the kennel and portable. Unfortunately with scent detection there are no spectators allowed to watch the actual trials but there may be opportunities for demonstrations and learning about this fun sport. I know a couple of club members are competing and there are others that are learning to be ready for trials in the future.

September 22-23 is our Club Trial. We are working on finalizing the judge. These events are put on for our members. If you want to consider trialing then set yourself a goal to be ready for the fall. Talk to the trainers about a plan as to how you can work towards this.

To all our club members at Saugeen. We had an awesome trail this weekend. To all the club members who were successful in the trail "Congratulations" The club members who were not successful their is alwayS next time and to keep trying. To Jim Stemp you did an awesome job being the secretary and to Julia thanks for helping him along. Pando and Sandra thanks for all your hospitality. It was a very hot weekend and we aced it like a team! Koodo's Saugeen we rock!!!!
